The world's six biggest economies will continue to drive the world economy for the foreseeable future. With all six economies expanding, the world economy is more likely to grow than shrink.
At least that is what the odds suggest. It is also true that the recovery in the U.S. economy is anemic.
But the world economy will see some bumps in the road. These bumps are more likely to be speedbumps than full-fledged catastrophes. So, it's time to start thinking about what we should do to avoid being a casualty of these speedbumps.
Let's first take a look at the six biggest economies that drive the world economy. They are the United States, Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom, China and India. The United States is the largest, with $14.3 trillion in assets. The rest of the group is China ($5.7 trillion), the United Kingdom ($5.3 trillion), India ($1.1 trillion), Japan ($1.1 trillion) and Germany ($915 billion).
I'll address some of the economic issues that are of interest to Arizona on the "Top 10 Issues to Watch," a list created in September by The Arizona Republic. The first issue on the list is "Shifting away from nuclear power."
This issue is about more than energy. It is about the evolution of the U.S. economy.
